About Clemence
I’m interested in what happens when design, technology and business come together.
I’m Clemence Kotoku, a multidisciplinary digital freelancer, designer, developer and builder based in Ghana. I help businesses create better digital experiences, and I spend a lot of my time building, experimenting and learning about what comes next.

The Short Version
I like building things.
I’ve always been interested in how things work.
That curiosity eventually led me into web design, development and digital marketing.
Over time, those areas stopped feeling like separate disciplines. A website needs design. Design needs technology. Technology needs a reason to exist. And businesses need people to actually find and use what gets built.
That intersection is where I like to work.
Today, I work with businesses on digital projects while also building my own products, experimenting with new technology and sharing what I’m learning along the way.
The Journey
It didn’t start with a master plan.
Five turns that took me from curious about the web to building my own products.
01
Discovering the Web
I started by exploring what was possible on the web and learning how websites were designed and built.
The more I learned, the more interested I became in understanding not just how a website looked, but how the whole experience worked.
02
From Design to Development
Design naturally led into development.
I wanted to understand what happened after the design file was finished, so I started building the things I designed. That changed the way I approached both disciplines.
03
Discovering Marketing
Then came another realization: a great website doesn’t matter much if nobody sees it.
That led me deeper into digital marketing, advertising, analytics and conversion tracking. I started thinking about websites not simply as digital brochures, but as part of a larger customer journey.
04
Building for Businesses
Eventually, these skills came together through client work.
I began helping businesses with websites, ecommerce, marketing and the technology behind their digital presence. That’s also where I started discovering the problems that businesses repeatedly face.
05 · Today
Building My Own
Those problems became ideas. Some became products. Some became experiments. And some became Incep Digital.
Today, I’m continuing to explore what happens when you combine design, technology, marketing and product thinking.
My Work
A few different hats. One way of thinking.
Designer
I think about how something looks, feels and communicates.
Good design should make things clearer, not simply prettier.
Developer
I turn ideas and designs into functional digital experiences.
I like understanding how things work underneath the interface.
Marketer
I think about what happens after someone sees the website.
How do they find it? Why should they care? What makes them take action?
Builder
I take problems and turn them into things that can actually be used.
That could be a website, a platform, an app, a tool or a completely new idea.
My Philosophy
Build for the person, not just the screen.
Digital work can become too focused on the technology. Which framework? Which platform? Which AI tool? Which feature?
Those questions matter, but they aren’t where I like to start. I start with the person.
What are they trying to do?
What problem are they experiencing?
What would make this easier?
What would make them trust the business?
What would make them come back?
Technology should help answer those questions, not become the reason for them.
Lessons From the Work
A few things I keep coming back to.
01
A website isn’t a strategy.
A website is one part of a larger digital system.
Without traffic, positioning, a clear offer and a reason for people to act, a beautiful website can still sit there doing very little.
02
Simple is harder than complicated.
It’s easy to add another feature. It’s much harder to decide what doesn’t need to be there.
I try to remove complexity wherever I can.
03
Build before you assume.
Ideas sound very different once they become real.
Building helps expose the assumptions hiding inside an idea.
04
Data matters, but context matters too.
Numbers can tell you what happened.
Understanding why it happened is where things get interesting.
05
Keep learning.
Technology changes quickly.
The best way I’ve found to keep up is to stay curious, experiment and actually build things.

Currently
I’m still figuring things out.
I’m building products. Working with businesses. Learning new technologies. Experimenting with AI. Creating content. Reading. Breaking things. Fixing them.
And occasionally wondering why I decided to build that particular thing in the first place.
That’s part of it. I don’t think you need to have everything figured out before you start building. You learn a lot by making something real.

Follow Along
I share the process, not just the finished work.
I’m documenting more of what I’m building and learning.
The projects. The experiments. The wins. The mistakes. The lessons. The occasional “this seemed like a good idea at the time.”
If you’re interested in websites, AI, digital products, marketing or building something from scratch, you’ll probably find something useful.
